This travel plan begins with the reception in Cusco to visit the city and surrounding areas such as the Temple of the Sun Qorikancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Tambomachay, Pukapukara and continue the trip through the sacred valley of the Incas, visiting Pisaq, typical market, Urubamba, Ollantay Tambo.
On the third day, the most important visit to the Inca city of Machu Picchu is made and in the afternoon we return to Cusco.
Continuing with the program, the trip to Puno is made, visiting attractions on route such as the town of Andahuaylillas – Chapel of Saint Peter, Raqchi – Temple of Wiracocha, Museum of Pukará and arriving in Puno in the afternoon and settling at your Hotel.
The next day the tour of Lake Titicaca begins, appreciating spectacular views of the Andean landscape and meeting with native inhabitants of the islands who preserve their ancestral traditions.
Finally, the trip is made to the City of La Paz in Bolivia and touring the impressive Uyuni Salt flat
ITINERARY:
Day 01: Reception at Cusco Airport
Reception upon arrival and transfer to your Hotel in Cusco located over 3350 meters above sea level, so it is recommended to bring medication for altitude sickness.
In the afternoon, the city tour begins, visiting the temple of the Sun Qorikancha, Sacsayhuaman Inca Fortress, Qenko Inca shrine and Puca Pucara Inca administrative and military center.
In the afternoon return to your Hotel in Cusco.
Day 02: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes + Lunch
After breakfast, you begin with pick-up from your Hotel to visit the sacred valley where you can appreciate the Inca ceramics making techniques in the Pisaq craft market. Then we will have the opportunity to enjoy our lunch.
Continuing with our tour, we will visit the archaeological center of Ollantaytambo, where we will find splendid Inca buildings, you will be able to appreciate the famous Inca architecture of the place. This place served as a military, agricultural and bureaucratic complex during the time of the Incas.
At night you will take the train to the lost citadel of the Incas (Machu Picchu), hotel staff will wait for you at the train station to take you to the assigned Hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Day 03: Machu Picchu – Cusco
After breakfast, the bus trip begins that will take you to the lost city of the Incas. In this magnificent city you can visit: the viewpoint, temple of the three windows, the intihuatana, the main square, the temple of the condor, the temple of the sun, etc. Optionally, you can upgrade to Huaynapichu (extra cost and reservation months in advance, limited spaces).
After the visit to Machu Picchu, there is time to have lunch at a local restaurant.
At the indicated time we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo station and later to your Hotel in Cusco.
Day 04: Cusco – Ruta del Sol – Puno + Lunch
After breakfast you will be transferred to the tourist bus station to begin the trip to the city of Puno and on the way visit places of interest such as: The Sistine Chapel of America in Andahuaylillas, Temple of Wiracocha, Paso de la Raya (Road Limit between Cusco and Puno – sighting of the Nevado Chimboya) and the Mythical Museum of Pukará
At noon you can enjoy a buffet lunch.
Upon arrival in Puno, you will be transferred to your Hotel in Puno.
Day 05: Lake Titicaca Uros Islands – Taquile + Lunch
After breakfast, transfer from the Hotel to the pier where we board the boat to begin the trip across Lake Titicaca and visit the floating islands of the Uros.
It is said that the Uros natives have lived on these islands for hundreds of years, taking advantage of the large amount of existing reeds to build small islands as platforms.
These natives are known as the water tribe, because their livelihood is based on the Lake and Totora reeds.
Then the trip continues to the island of Taquile where we hike to visit the island and then have lunch at a local restaurant (quinoa soup, grilled trout and hot drink (mate de muña or coca).
Then the walk continues observing the flora, fauna and spectacular views of the lake,
In the afternoon we begin the walk down to the port and board the boat back to Puno.
Upon arrival you will be transferred to your Hotel in Puno.
Day 06: Trip Puno – La Paz – Uyuni
Early, the bus trip begins from Puno to the city of La Paz in Bolivia (approximately 5 hours). Arrival in La Paz and City Tour Cable cars and Valley of the Moon.
Continuous night trip by bus with sofa-bed seats from La Paz to Uyuni.
Day 07: Uyuni Tour and return to La Paz + Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Reception in Uyuni and breakfast. Then the tour begins by visiting the Train Cemetery where you can see locomotives and wagons from the 19th and early 20th centuries exposed to the elements.
Town of Colchani where salt processing, salt crafts and typical fabrics can be seen.
Then, you enter the largest salt flat in the world with an area of 10,582 km2.
Later, we visit the old Salt Museum Hotel, a collection of world flags, a Dakar monument. Later we travel to Incahuasi Island, which is home to a large number of giant cacti from where you can appreciate the immensity of the Salar. After a walk, lunch is offered. Finally, we wait for sunset to obtain impressive photographs of the sun setting over the salt flat.
Night trip back to the city of La Paz. (End of Service)
